Eucharist Resources for the Month of Revival

Eucharist Resources for the Month of Revival

As we go deeper into the month of July, we are drawing close to the culmination of the National Eucharistic Revival, a movement that the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) began two years ago to revitalize faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist—a faith that has been in tragic decline in our country and throughout the world for many decades now. The crowning event of the Revival will be the National Eucharistic Congress that will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July 17th-21st, 2024.

Maybe you have plans to go to the Congress with your family, friends, or church group. Representatives from Good Catholic will be there and we’d love to see you! But whether you’ll be there in Indianapolis or plan to participate locally, we have ideas and resources here at Good Catholic that will help you make the most of this opportunity to renew your own faith in and devotion to Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Here’s a few ideas to get you started!

1. Visit Our Lord—for Mass, for Adoration, and for no reason at all.

The most important place for a Eucharistic revival to happen is in your own heart. That’s the revival that the larger Eucharistic Revival is meant to ignite. And it actually doesn’t take much to start this interior revival. You don’t have to go to Indianapolis, to the cathedral of your diocese, any special events, or anyplace out of the ordinary.

Our Lord is waiting for you right inside your local parish church. Consider using this month of the Revival to instill the habit of attending Mass once or twice during the week in addition to Sundays—our love for Our Lord increases exponentially with every devout reception of Holy Communion.

Check your bulletin to see when Adoration occurs during the week and spend some time in prayerful silence with Him.

Lastly—and this is really important—just stop by and visit Him in the tabernacle whenever you can, even if there is no Mass or Adoration happening. Our Lord treasures the simple, unplanned visits we pay Him, especially if He is alone there. Those who are in love will tell you that nice dinners, dates, and other special occasions are certainly good, important, and enjoyable. But they might also tell you that some of their most treasured time together is amidst ordinary, everyday activities.
