Today is a big day for our country. Many of you will be watching the election results prayerfully and hopefully.
As Catholics, we are called to participate in civic life, to vote for candidates who will support the sanctity of human life, and to work, pray, and sacrifice for the good of our country.
As we watch the results come in, let us place everything in God’s hands. Let us pray together for the conversion of our country, for wisdom for our leaders, for the protection of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and for our return to the mantle of Our Lady, Patroness of the United States.
Let us pray for the reign of Christ the King and for the recognition of His rule in our country and throughout the world. Let us place our future and that of the United States at His merciful throne.
A Prayer for the Election
God our Father, we entrust the United States of America to Your loving care.
You are the rock on which we were founded, the source of our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Reclaim this land for Your glory. Touch the hearts of our nation’s leaders. Open their minds to the sanctity of human life and the responsibilities that accompany freedom.
Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, grant us the courage to reject the culture of death and embrace a culture of life.
Amen.
Prayer To St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
