Sacred Stillness: A Catholic Advent Retreat

Be still.

It’s hard to do it at this time of year, isn’t it? Every moment seems to be full of busy-ness: shopping, wrapping gifts, planning parties.

But to truly celebrate Advent—to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ—we need time for reflection, prayer, and quiet.

So we’re blocking out that time for you. On Saturday, December 2nd, join Morning Offering‘s Fr. Jeffrey Kirby and two special guests for the Advent retreat you need.

This event has passed, but you can still watch it in its entirety by purchasing.

In a season full of activity, how do we take time for Christ?

We often have the best of intentions at the beginning of Advent.

We tell ourselves that we will take more time for recollection and prayer. We promise ourselves that we won’t get caught up in all the things to do and the material preparations for Christmas.

But then…the storm breaks. We find time slipping away and the to-do list mounting up. The days and weeks start flying by. We are rushed and stressed and are in danger of losing sight of the real purpose of Advent—not the material preparation of our homes, but the spiritual preparation of our hearts for Christ.

If this sounds like you, fear not! We have a way for you to get yourself on the right track on the very eve of Advent, so you can achieve that peace of heart that will last the whole season through.

On Saturday, December 2nd, join beloved Good Catholic contributor and Morning Offering host Fr. Jeffrey Kirby along with author Tsh Oxenreider and Abiding Together co-host Heather Khym for an intentional afternoon of prayer, reflection, discussion, and quiet. This short but powerful retreat will set you up for a peaceful, Christ-centered Advent—the Advent you’ve always wanted!
