Father David Miller
Fr. David Miller is a priest for the Diocese of Charlotte, North Carolina. One of twelve children, he began discerning his vocation to the priesthood during his middle school years. Fr. Miller has a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and, from 2000-2003, was a member of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary (the Marians of the Immaculate Conception) before entering seminary in his native Diocese of Charlotte in 2006. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2010, and currently serves as pastor of St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
Whitney Hetzel
Whitney Hetzel and her husband, James, have been married for thirty-three years. They have nine children ranging in age from twelve to thirty-two. Whitney, who has been homeschooling for twenty-seven years, is an exercise enthusiast who enjoys blogging about health and fitness over at 9 Kid Fitness. But her real passion is discussing faith, family, and the challenges of putting one foot in front of the other on a daily basis, all of which she writes about at Catholic Company Magazine and the Good Catholic blog. Whitney has a B.A. in English and Journalism from Indiana University and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Saint Louis University.
Gretchen Filz, O.P.
Gretchen Filz, O.P., is a Catholic content writer with an M.A. in Christian Apologetics. As a result of her studies in theology and philosophy at an Evangelical seminary, she discovered the truth of Catholicism and entered into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2011. A passionate convert and Lay Dominican, Gretchen lives out her vocation through prayer, study, teaching, writing, and engaging in a variety of apostolates. This series was great, my 5 year old daughter learned how to do the rosary with me. I never felt so close to her as when we did the prayers together thank you so much for that and for bring us back to the church. I was going to a baptist church but we ( my family ) did not feel at home, since I started watching your website and reading the morning prayers each day for the last year. Well my life has changed so much for the better I’ve never felt so close to Jesus and God. we have booked a 5 week trip to Israel for Christmas and we will be doing a excursion to all the places that Jesus walked so thank you so much for bringing use back home and especially for your websites I read them all, they are life changing and life saving God bless all of you who work so hard putting it all together each day. I loved the Rosary feature. I have begun to say the Rosary daily and that feature helps me stay focused and enriches the experience for me. I am confident and faithful that Mary and her Son are working on the knots I’ve been praying upon and will reveal their resolution to me in God’s perfect timing. I am very grateful and feel blessed to have found this series. I needed it, but more than that – my son needed it. He is struggling with alcoholism. We had encouraged him to find a spiritual advisor – not easy to do nowadays – priests are just too busy. Bought him this series and he’s doing the novena now. Both of us loved Fr. Miller who is a gifted contributor. Can’t thank you enough – and of course- our Blessed Mother!
I especially enjoyed the Daily Reflections with Father Miller…He is wonderful! And although it was quite a bit of reading, I found the information to be helpful and inspirational beyond measure. I also loved the Rosary being recited, because I always had someone to pray with.
I’m grateful for the way it was presented, as a novena and with spiritual guidance from Father David Miller. This was a very good topic and course that encourages people to go back and really live it out.
I thoroughly enjoyed the series and felt that I grew spiritually by following along and attempting to incorporate the new reflections each day.
My one critique would be that the readings were a bit long. For me, I needed about 45 mins to an hour each day in order to truly absorb the content. I think 30 mins max would be about right.
